We’re pleased to announce that our own Brad Denson has received a well-deserved nod from the good folks at Buckeye Music Magazine and has been named their “February Artist of the Month” for 2014. Brad’s not one to flaunt his accomplishments but it’s great to see some recognition for his hard work and contributions to the scene – both as a musician and a promoter. From the article:
When I think about the warmer days of spring and summer I can’t help but think festy season and the many great festivals there are here in the Buckeye State. One of our favorites over the past few years has been the Miami Valley Music Festival held each year in Troy, Ohio. One of the organizers behind this annual festival is Brad Denson. His hard work and dedication to this project is just one reason Brad Denson is Buckeye Music Magazine’s February Artist of the Month.
The article sums up Brad’s work ethic nicely:
Don’t ask me how he does [it], I get exhausted just thinking about it, but somehow Brad finds a way to do it all.
The band got a nice mention as well:
Denson’s longtime band Lost on Iddings is better than ever; the result of patience and vision. LOI has been through several line-up changes over the years but Denson’s patience has paid off in recent months solidifying the band’s spot on the Jamband scene with an incredible ensemble that includes Chris Carter (Drums), Todd Oaks (Vocals/Guitar), Rich Reuter (Guitar/Vocals), Erich Reith (Percussion), Bryan “Hazy” Russell (Keys/Vocals), and Denson (Bass/Vocals). In 2013 the LOI made huge strides opening for Jamband legends New Riders of the Purple Sage as well as Grateful Dead radio host David Gans. In October LOI invited Buckeye Music Magazine Radio to Doghouse Studios in Troy for a special live broadcast and recording session. The private show was the brainchild of Denson and rendered eight great tunes called “The Buckeye Sessions” and can be downloaded on Bandcamp. In addition Loi is also the backup band for John Hurlbut’s (manager of the Fur Peace Ranch) Hurl and the Spins.
Thanks to our friends at Buckeye Music Magazine for the kind words. Make sure to check out their site and radio show regularly for the best regional music around.
